As you will all be aware, COVID-19 is affecting the most vulnerable in society and as a result we are doing all that we can to ensure the delivery of safe care to all residents living in our nursing homes – Capel Grange, Penylan House and Ty Coch.

We are meticulously following daily guidance from the HM Government, NHS and Public Health England and Wales. Our staff are routinely provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to conduct care in the safest way possible.

If a member of staff is concerned they have COVID-19, they are advised to self-isolate at home and follow NHS advice. If advised to self-isolate at home, they will not be able to visit and care for individuals until safe to do so. Please be assured that we are maintaining appropriate levels of staffing but inevitably we do have to work below optimum numbers.

To prevent the risk of the virus spreading, we have suspended visitors into our homes until further notice. Residents receiving end of life care will be allowed visitors, but this must be arranged with staff on duty. This will be upsetting and frustrating for both residents and relatives alike, but our priority is to keep people safe and focus on essential care.
